CREATING A CORE LOOP TO GET RETENTION

ALIS SEXUAL WELLNESS - PHASE 2

You can take the guy out of Le Gers but you can’t take Le Gers out of the guy

BRIEF

Gamifying the experience to create a core loop
Now that we have shown our ability to attract users to the app, our next goal is to increase their engagement. Specifically, we aim to achieve a 20% retention rate by day 7. To accomplish this, I have been tasked with developing a gamified solution for the Alis experience. The solution will involve an avatar that represents the user's intimate inner self, linked to their sexual archetype. As users advance in their journey, the avatar will evolve.

APPROACH

From ideation to delivery
The mission began with ideating on what the gamification and avatar features could include. It ended with delivering high-fidelity prototypes to the development team and reviewing them in Q&A.

SOLUTION

Defining the flow
We defined the core characteristics of our avatar feature through ideation workshops and benchmarks. The feature will offer a tamagotchi-like experience, where users have to give attention to it several times a day to keep it alive and fill its life gauge. Additionally, the feature would count streaks and reward the most consistent users.

HI-FI PROTOTYPE

Keep your avatar alive by giving it love
They will also get a life in reward for checking a piece of content pushed from the home tab.
Collect streaks by checking-in to reflect on how you feel
The streak feature has several benefits. It reinforces the bond between the app and the user, rewards user loyalty, and creates a fear of missing out. This mix of positive and negative motivators drives user action.
Learn & reflect as you discover new content
Luni's content team has spent time creating valuable content and insights for Alis' users. Simply pushing content through a player could result in boredom and redundancy, so I have implemented snack content cards that allow users to interact. Furthermore, they earn a "life" every time they check out a piece of content.
